Combined facial rejuvenation treatment blends the latest developments in Intense Pulsed Light technology with a mild, exfoliating skin resurfacer and therapeutic lumiére red light treatment for maximum, triple-action collagen-boosting effect.
Our intense pulsed light system releases precisely controlled, short pulses of filtered light that stimulate the fibroblast cells within the skin that produce collagen and elastin. In addition, specific lesions such as thread veins, age spots and freckles can be targeted resulting in a more uniform complexion. Combined with an exfoliating resurfacer treatment and restorative lumiére red light therapy, intense pulsed light treatment promotes firmer, more radiant skin, with improved skin tone and texture.
Prior to treatment, a consultation is conducted in which a medical history is taken to confirm suitability for treatment. There is also an opportunity for any questions you may have to be answered and time for a small patch test to be carried out*. During treatment the skin is thoroughly cleansed before a mild, relaxing skin resurfacer treatment is performed to exfoliate the skin and maximise the results of the intense pulsed light. With the peel removed, protective eye wear is provided and a thin layer of chilled gel is applied to the treatment area to guide the light in to the skin. The light applicator is placed on to the skin and a short pulse of light is released. The handpiece is then moved to the neighbouring area and the process is repeated until the entire area is treated. The chilled gel is removed and the area cooled. The combined facial rejuvenation procedure concludes with a lumiére red light therapy session to soothe the skin and further encourage collagen production.
*£20 charge for test patch, redeemable against any IPL treatment
Most people are suitable for treatment, except for tanned or dark-skinned individuals.
In the months following treatment, skin tightening should increase as new collagen is produced within the dermis. Skin will be firmer and more radiant, with enlarged pores and uneven texture and tone reduced.
Treatments are carried out every 2 to 3 weeks, with a course of 6 treatments usually recommended for optimum results. Thereafter, top-up sessions may be performed as required, typically once or twice a year.
Treatment sensation varies but is often described as a “flick of an elastic band” or “a quick pin prick”. Typically no anaesthesia is required and most clients describe the mild discomfort as moderate and tolerable.
The skin may be quite red and slightly swollen after treatment, but this usually subsides quickly. A small blister may form and there can be temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. You may see a darkening of any pigmented spots before they flake off, leading to a more even skin tone.
